1. Who we are

iwantsolar.my (“the Platform”, “we”) is an independent online platform that connects Malaysian homeowners with third-party SEDA-registered solar PV installers (“Installers”). We are not an installer. We do not design, supply, install, commission, maintain, or warranty solar PV systems.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older, the homeowner or authorised representative of the property, and resident in Peninsular Malaysia to submit an enquiry.

3. Quotes are indicative

ROI estimates and savings projections shown on the Platform are indicative only. They are based on conservative assumptions and the information you provide. Actual system performance and savings depend on roof orientation, shading, system design, weather, your consumption patterns, tariff changes, and regulatory updates.

Final pricing requires an in-person site visit by the chosen Installer. Quoted prices may shift ±10–15% (or more) following site inspection.

4. Installer relationship

Once you pick an Installer through the Platform, your contractual relationship is directly with that Installer, not with iwantsolar.my. The Installer is solely responsible for:

• The quote, contract, equipment supplied, and workmanship
• SEDA RPVSP, Form N + Q, ST licence and any other regulatory compliance
• Warranties on panels, inverters, batteries, and labour
• Permit applications, TNB liaison, and ATAP enrolment
• Post-installation servicing and support

5. Vetting, not endorsement

We perform reasonable checks of an Installer's credentials (SEDA, ST, Form N + Q, SSM, insurance, install track record) before activating them on the Platform. This vetting is a screen, not a guarantee. We don't endorse any Installer and we're not liable for an Installer's acts or omissions.

6. Free for homeowners

Submitting an enquiry, receiving quotes, and using the comparison tool is free for homeowners. We charge Installers for access to the lead. You owe us nothing.

7. Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate, truthful information.
• Respond to Installer follow-ups in a reasonable time.
• Inform us promptly if your details change.
• If you are tenant rather than owner, obtain landlord consent before installation.

8. Communications

By submitting an enquiry, you consent to receive transactional emails from us (confirmation, comparison link, status updates) and from the Installer you pick. You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, the Platform is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential or special loss arising from your use of the Platform or your dealings with any Installer. Our aggregate liability to you is capped at RM 100.

10. Intellectual property

All content, code, design, and the “iwantsolar.my” mark are the property of iwantsolar.my. You may not reproduce, scrape, or repurpose them without written permission.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Platform if you breach these terms or use the Platform fraudulently. You may stop using the Platform at any time.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Kuala Lumpur.

13. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always at /terms with the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
