1. What we collect

When you use iwantsolar.my, we collect:

• Property information — state, postcode, city, address, property type, ownership, electrical phase, monthly TNB bill, time-of-use status.
• Contact information — your name, phone number, and email address.
• Preference data — install timeline, financing interest.
• Technical data — IP address, browser, device, and cookies for security and analytics.

2. How we use it

• To match your enquiry to vetted SEDA-registered installers and generate quotes for you.
• To send you confirmation emails, your comparison link, and educational content about Solar ATAP.
• To improve the platform (aggregated, de-identified analytics).
• To prevent fraud and abuse.

3. Who sees what

Before you pick an installer: participating installers see only your postcode, city, monthly bill, property type, phase, and timeline. They do not see your name, phone, email, or street address.

After you pick an installer: we share your full contact details (name, phone, email, address) with that one installer so they can schedule a site visit. The other installers receive only a notification that the lead has closed.

We do not sell your data. Ever.

4. Service providers we use

We rely on a small set of trusted vendors to operate the platform:

• Supabase — database and authentication (Singapore region)
• Netlify — hosting and edge delivery
• Resend — transactional email

Each is contractually required to protect your data and use it only to provide the service.

5. How long we keep it

Active enquiries are retained for the lifetime of the platform so we can serve you and provide post-installation support. You may request deletion at any time (see Your Rights below). We retain anonymised, aggregated data indefinitely for analytics and improvement.

6. Your rights under PDPA

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
• Withdrawal of consent — opt out of further processing.
• Deletion — request that we erase your data, subject to legal retention requirements.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies for authentication and security, and a minimal analytics cookie to understand traffic patterns. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

8. Children

iwantsolar.my is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated by email if you have an active enquiry.
